Super Sixers’ Share Thoughts of Spring…

Easter Spring By Micah

Light breaking from the darkness of winter,

Life returns during the spring bicker.

The sound of the jumps of sneakers,

Water moving like flowing streamers.

Happiness and joy come back,

The call of the duck’s quacks.

Winter’s calm and silence broken,

Resurrection glory spoken.

Easter Day By Roina

As I wake up to the morning sun

I thank God for a new day just begun

As soon as I realize it’s Easter

My heart rejoices in song,

For the Lord has risen above me

And now my heart finally sees.

Rejoice in God for his morning Easter sun,

Love him for today and reflect on Jesus, His son,

For today Easter has just begun!

Spring By Kenneth

The flowers and cherry blossoms start to bloom

Like a butterfly escaping from its cocoon.

I like the warm sun because it makes me whole

Like Jesus rising to save our souls.

The bees buzz and the birds sing

It’s nature’s music- it’s a wonderful thing.

In the Spring, Easter is upon us,

Jesus died for us because he loves us.

I like the Spring –

Spring is a wonderful thing.

Spring By Nicole C

Springtime is here,

What a wonderful season,

When grass grows and flowers flow

And animals chase for no reason.

Eating food and finding eggs

The children always say,

"Can we start hunting now?

Or else we’ll lose our day!"

The birds come back to see

How faithful the earth will be.

With leaves of green and tulips gay

And newborn creatures every day.

It’s a blue- sky morning

With a wind that’s fair.

It’s a blossom-blowing morning,

There are spring buds in the air.

Spring By Zachary

Spring likes the sun

Spring likes the rain

Whatever the weather

It brings me no pain.

Spring brings me flowers

Animals, and trees,

The feeling of Spring

Keeps me at ease.

Spring is the best season of all,

It’s better than Summer, Winter, and Fall.

Spring By Becky

A glimpse of God

What a wonderful sight

The light so bright

I can fly a kite.

Spring stands out -

It gets a crowd.

Playful and charming…

Sometimes alarming!

Spring hates the dark

Because it has no bright spark.

Dark has no taste of its shame.

Spring brings joy

When it plays with cloud toys.

It also brings love

In the form of a dove.

There is no ending

timeless spending

But this is it,

The time has split.

Rain Go Away By Cory

Rain rain rain

All night!

Wouldn’t that be cool.

Then tomorrow maybe

They cancel school

No, no, not tonight

There’s too much to do.

Popping Easter eggs

And buying candy

Just for you

Oh, rain, go away

I misunderstood… but

After mom has finished running about

Come back

If you could!

A Reflection By Jodi & Katelynn

They’re in the garden

you see their shadow

They’re in the water

you see their reflection jiggle

There are so many to see

in the world

There is no time

to fool around.

God is watching every minute

He loves you a lot and every second.

We all fight, there’s many in war,

but somewhere in the world...

there’s a person asking for peace.

But in this world children cry

hoping and praying for their mom or dad to become alive.

I just wanted to say "the world is cruel, but as all this has gone on we were just havin’ fun and not caring.

But now it’s time to go

And be happy about each other.

Go outside

and feel the rain go by

But now you have

to understand this cruel little world.

There is so much to see

because it’s a heart of fire.

May the Lord be with you always, and pray for us all.

One day the world will come

to an end...

Life as a Toothpick by Hayley

If I were the size of a toothpick, my life would be really different. My life would be different because I am really small. But fortunately people would still be able to see me. Although that is a somewhat good thing, I still won’t have as many opportunities as I do now. For example, I won’t be able to play sports, go to school (because I would get smashed), and I won’t have many job opportunities.

If I were the size of a toothpick, I would need to have my things specially made. For example, I would need smaller toothbrushes, towels, a bed, clothes, computer, and everything else. But another positive thing is that I am very skinny and I won’t grow so I can stay in the same clothes. I would have people do things for me because I am not capable of reaching some things. On the other hand, I might not be alive because my dog would have eaten me already. I probably wouldn’t even be born because when they look at me inside my mom they would have kept thinking that I am too small and I won’t be able to survive.

Curing One of Society’s Illnesses by Joshua

If I could cure one of society’s illnesses, then it would be HIV and AIDS. It is becoming more and more widespread throughout the world. Many people take risks without being tested for HIV. This is one of the many reasons that HIV is spreading throughout the world so quickly. Another reason why I would choose HIV is because there is currently no cure for it and it is a very deadly disease. There have been millions of people dying because of this incurable disease. This is why I would choose AIDS if I could cure one of society’s illnesses.

Traveling to Anywhere in the World by Aviana

Where would you travel, is it going to be here in the United States, or somewhere else around the globe? If I could travel to any city in the world, my first choice would be New York City! New York City is great for fashion and business. If you wanted to be a fashion designer, it’s one of the best places to go. I wouldn’t want to go there just for shopping for things/stuff, but to visit the Statue of Liberty. To go inside and look at all the parts is exciting because when you look at postcards of the Statue of Liberty, you can say, "Oh ya, I’ve been there!" You can walk on forever and past the billboards and models and fashion magazines! One of the other things I like to do is to see the Rockettes perform. I’ve seen them in the parades and on Broadway! If I had a choice, I wouldn’t want to live there, but I would visit there a lot. If I had another choice, I would pick Paris, France. They have amazing food and restaurants, and the one and only Eiffel Tower! They have malls, bakeries, historical sites, and museums. The one place I would not want to visit is Little Rock, Arkansas. Where would you travel?

8th Grade Comments:

One Big Ohana By Kylie

It seems like only yesterday when we first walked into this school.

We started off as innocent children, not knowing what to do.

We made new friends as the years went by.

Not knowing what would happen to us or why.

All we thought was that we would never change

And be best friends without any range.

Not really knowing that things would change really quick.

Going our separate ways and joining our own cliques.

We are now readying ourselves for our eighth grade graduation,

Hoping to become one big ohana and learn the skill of cooperation.

We are on our way to reach our goal.

Believing in ourselves and helping each other to become one whole.

September 11 By Juliet

September 11 is a day that will always be remembered. It will be a day remembered with many different emotions swirling around in our hearts. Anger, fear, sadness, regret, these are just some of the many different emotions people feel on this certain day. Even through all the sadness and pain one lesson can be learned for September 11, a lesson we should all hold dear to our hearts.

When September 11 happened, I was just a kid. I didn’t know anything. O could only remember waking up and seeing my parents looking at the TV with shocked looks. I asked in a scared voice what happened. Both my mom and my dad sat me down and explained to me that some very bad people did some very bad things. They told me about the plane crashing into the buildings. At the time I couldn’t comprehend what my parents were saying. As I got older, I began to understand more about September 11. And from my understandings, the lesson that stuck with me the longest is to live everyday like it’s my last, because I very well just might be.

A quote that gives me the motivation to live everyday to its fullest is a quote by Helen Keller. It states, "When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us." I use this quote as my motivation because it’s telling me to stop looking at the bad and to start focusing on the good, even if it may be hard.

September 11 can’t be forgotten, but it can be an experience we can learn from. Like Mrs. D always says. "From the bad, there is always something good that comes out of it."

Love is Forever By Chloe

One word is not enough to describe it…love

You know when its love with the tingling feels inside

You rarely want to push it aside

Love is like a candle you have to keep the fire burning and not let it fade away

Love is like boiling water it keeps you warm tomorrow and today

Love is when you could go back in time and choose all the moments to be with you

No matter all the ups and downs you'll always be my boo

If love is music inside, you are the melody deep in my heart, nothing can keep us apart

So different like sun and rain working together can they create joy

If only I knew love was this coy

Love is what makes the world go round

You can tell its love even without making a sound

I've come to a conclusion, love is clever

Never say never because love is forever
